About UOWD

UOWD is a premier Australian university in the Middle East providing worldclass higher education to 3,500 students through 250 staff.

DUAL CHALLENGES

  1. By 2003-04, UOWD had begun attracting the region's leading organisations to recruit its students on campus. The student intake had also increased during this period. This resulted in extraordinary pressure on the Student Services department to identify best fit students for every available position.
  2. Even to augment its own staff, UOWD had just one person managing the entire recruitment cycle. They were getting hundreds of paper CVs and email applications; many of which did not even state the desired job position. It was a very slow, manual process.

IMPLEMENTATION & SERVICE

Implementing the core solution was quick. “We had it up and running in a week. There was limited need for IT support and we could take a decision without getting too many parties involved,” says Naomi Munro, Human Resources Manager at UOWD.

“The fact that both departments could screen people, ask relevant questions, and then modify all of that was a strong factor. In a university, our recruitment process is very different from corporate organisations. We needed the flexibility to be able to change things easily and quickly.
